Vanilla County is more than a destination—it is a story of generations. Built in 1947 by VJ Mathew Vallikappen, the bungalow stands as a symbol of heritage and grace. In 1997, Baby Mathew and Rani Baby opened their home to travelers, pioneering the homestay concept in Kerala and redefining hospitality with warmth and authenticity.

Today, Mathew and Silu carry this legacy forward. With a background in hospitality and culinary arts from New Zealand, Mathew curates unforgettable guest experiences, blending tradition with thoughtful modern touches. Silu brings heartfelt warmth into every detail, ensuring each guest feels truly at home.

Our dedicated local team—many of whom have been with us for years—deliver personalized care with genuine smiles, offering a true taste of Kerala’s culture. And adding to the charm are our friendly Labradors, Koko and Bailey, who love to accompany guests on leisurely walks or simply relax by their side.
